Hip, hip, hooray!
As this Blue Care Residential Care Home turned 60, staff and residents turned up to celebrate. The festivities included a celebratory cake and special historical display.
So what makes Homefield so special? Well, this facility has a rich history of giving!
The centre first became a place of care for the elderly in 1962. This was thanks to a generous donation from Alan and Enid Shepherd. Since then, Homefield has embraced the notion of philanthropy.
Most recently, in 2018, the facility received an overhaul of refurbishments and upgrades. This included a new Wellness Centre, all thanks to the kindness of supporters. This Centre is used for day-respite including activities, catching-up with friends and visiting with family. There is also a salon that is used once a week for hair treatments and other pampering activities.
As you give to Blue Care so thoughtfully, the staff, volunteers and residents of Homefield would like to say thanks:
“Over the 19 years of volunteering at Homefield, I have personally seen the benefits of having the wonderful support of our donors.”
- Marcia, Volunteer
“Thanks just doesn’t seem enough, we all greatly appreciate the efforts our donors and volunteers put into helping us.”
- Patricia, Resident
“Donations are really helpful - it doesn’t matter how big or small, it all helps to enlighten the lives of our residents.”
- Margaret, Volunteer
“The generosity from our donors is a reminder that community participation plays a large role in the daily lives of our residents.”
- Deb, Staff Member
