The Telehealth Cart: Dialling into High Quality Care

Effective connection and high-quality care: this is what you have given to residents living in residential aged care across BlueCare.

Reassurance of safety and dependability during tough times: this is what you have offered the families and loved ones of those residents.

Confidence in their roles and greater access to General Practitioners (GPs): this is what you have provided to the Registered Nurses (RNs) who care for these residents. All in the form of the Visionflex
Telehealth Cart (VTC).

The VTC is a versatile, easy to manoeuvre cart equipped with a video call platform, webcam and Bluetooth enabled medical devices, such as a blood pressure cuff, digital stethoscope with headphones, and an ECG Monitor.

Your generous support has provided funding for multiple VTCs for facilities in regional and remote areas including Bundaberg, Toogoolawah, Kingaroy, Lowood, Hervey Bay and Brassall.

In ageing communities where reaching GPs can be challenging, the VTC is a lifesaver. RNs can connect visually and audibly with GPs at any time, which is especially important during natural disasters such as floods. The VTC provides all the necessary tools for examination and the GP can advise the RN to check the resident’s blood pressure, heart rate, conduct hearing or vision tests and so much more.

The benefits of the Telehealth Cart go beyond the medical capability. It can also be used to provide connection between residents and their loved ones; especially when family and friends are unable to be in the same room. The patient facing monitor, webcam, and Bluetooth speaker provide meaningful interactions when physical presence is not possible, offering comfort and emotional support.

The VTCs help keep residents safe. They are changing our approach to healthcare. Imagine the impact if we could bring telehealth to all locations across BlueCare. Your support could make this vision a reality.
