We asked you about your ‘favourite Christmas memory’, and thank you to everyone who sent theirs in. Some of your responses made us laugh and others brought a tear to our eyes. Here’s a few we thought we’d share…
From Cynthia: “Spending every Christmas at Caloundra in the 50s and 60s with my parents and grandfather. We surfed twice a day and fished and played card games & listened tothe radio in the evenings.”
From Heather: “Being flood bound on our property over the Xmas period with 10 family members and friends. The food was plentiful & the company was great, & everyone voted it “the best Xmas ever!”
From Rosemary: “Christmas pudding on a hot summer day at my grandmother’s house. She always put three pences in the pudding. It was such fun finding them and seeing who had most.”
From husband, Al: “The last Chrismas I spent with my darling wife Anne who sadly passed away 4th December 2014 RIP.”
From June: “Experiencing a magical white Christmas in 1970 when my sister and I worked in England. Snow began falling on Christmas Eve night and we awoke on Christmas day to a snowy ‘winter wonderland’. With the scenery transformed we had to convince ourselves we were still in the same place. After church, we had fun throwing snowballs at each other!”
From Elaine: “All our families having Pre-Christmas dinner on Mum & Dad’s front veranda. My mum asking passers-by if they had nowhere to go to come & have dinner with us. Then off to see the Christmas lights & then onto midnight Church service.”
