Home should never feel lonely
At BlueCare, we’re excited to be piloting a new initiative that’s all about reducing loneliness and bringing people together. It’s called Compassionate Companions, and it’s a program where caring volunteers are paired with our residents to offer companionship, support, and a little extra joy.
Volunteers in the program are specially trained to help ease the feelings of isolation and loneliness that can come with being far from home or facing mobility challenges. Whether it’s enjoying a cuppa together, working on a puzzle, taking a stroll, or just having someone to talk to, these small moments make a big difference for the people who call BlueCare home.
But we need your help! Through BlueCare's Golf Day, you can support this incredible program by registering a team, raising funds, or chipping in with a donation. Every little bit makes a difference in helping us bring more smiles, conversations, and companionship to those who need it most.
Join us in making a real impact – together, we can help combat loneliness and make BlueCare feel even more like home for everyone.
How your support can help
A kind gift of $50
can help us train a volunteer to provide companionship, support, and joyful moments for residents
A compassionate gift of $100
could provide the materials and resources needed to guide volunteers in creating meaningful activities for residents
A generous gift of $250
can help us bring regular companionship visits to more residents, reducing feelings of loneliness and isolation
An extraordinary gift of $500
can ensure volunteers can continue to offer personalised support, creating a comfortable space for residents to share and connect in more neighbourhoods across Queensland
BlueCare puts you at the heart of it all
Since 1953, the Blue Nurses have been there for Queensland thanks to the compassion and generosity of our community. And while our name has changed, and much of the work we do these days is made possible through government funding and client contributions – people like you are still at the heart of it all.
It’s the support of our donors, volunteers, fundraisers and partners that helps us deliver the services, like our new Compassionate Companions program, that do not receive any or only partial funding.
