Help us reach our goal to fund five telehealth carts to bring comfort, connection and care to the people who call BlueCare home.
Although BlueCare nurses make it their mission each day to ensure residents feel fully consulted and connected to their own care, the truth is there can be a sense of lost control among frail and elderly residents, especially those with dementia.
Your donation towards telehealth carts will help people living in BlueCare homes feel more independent, empowered, and listened to.
Marie, a BlueCare nurse says, “A lot of residents recognise their doctors, because they’ve known them a long time.”
“That reassures them. It provides peace of mind. Instead of us just telling them we’ve spoken to their doctor, they get to visually see them, explain their symptoms, and know their health issues are being actioned.”
You’ll also help families stay involved, with telehealth carts allowing family members to join the video consult. Families can share important medical background information with a doctor, ask questions, and support their loved one with whatever they’re going through.
With a donation today, you’ll help make sure more of our loved ones can see their GP, whether they're in Bundaberg, Brisbane, Mareeba or Mackay, no matter what time of day it happens to be.
It looks like a little robot – but it brings a surprisingly human touch.
It’s a Visionflex Telehealth Cart. It has everything a nurse needs to make a video call to a doctor and examine a patient.
Extra-large, high quality screens so patients and doctors can SEE each other. This screen can also display readings like heart rate.
You can add ‘extra’ diagnostic equipment to the cart – such as an otoscope for ear examinations, or laryngoscope to examine the throat.
A smaller camera is used by nurses for a closer ‘look’ at, say, a patient’s throat, ears or skin. The doctor can ask to zoom in or capture images.
Portable ECG to quickly identify cardiac problems.
Lightweight frame on wheels to bring GPs right to their patients’ bed.
This breakthrough medical tool means patients can be diagnosed, and even begin treatment, without being in the same place as their GP.
Please donate today and help get five telehealth carts into BlueCare residences.
