Donate to a BlueCare appeal

Since 1953, BlueCare has been empowering people to live life their way – and you can, too.

Although much of the work we do at BlueCare is made possible through government funding and client contributions,it's the kind support of people like you that helps us deliver the services that do not receive any or only partial funding.

Support frontline care

You can help meet the growing need for dementia care  – with well-trained staff who can support people with dementia gently, kindly, and with respect.

Continue Olive's legacy

You can help continue Olive's legacy and train more BlueCare staff to care for elderly and vulnerable people in your community.

Help us provide dementia respite

You can help provide respite services that make life so much better for those living with dementia, and for the loved ones who look after them.

FAQs

Why and how do we fundraise?

expand_more expand_less

BlueCare fundraise in a range of ways that allow us to reach the greatest number of people, including individuals, families, organisations and local communities who want to help us deliver compassionate care. We appreciate the money, time and heart anyone is able to give in support of BlueCare.

We receive funds from:

  • Extraordinary people – our Blue-hearted Neighbours who give monthly, those who choose to give a one-off donation when they can or include a gift in their Will, our community fundraising event participants, those who choose to give at our events or online, and those who fundraise on our behalf.
  • corporate partners
  • state and federal government
  • trusts, foundations and grants

We fundraise:

  • online (through emails, social media and our websites)
  • over the phone
  • by sending mail
  • at events

If you’re ever unsure if a fundraiser is legitimate, give our Supporter Experience team a call on 1800 001 953 or email us at fundraising@bluecare.org.au.

Do we use telephone fundraising?

expand_more expand_less

Yes, we do use telephone fundraising. This type of fundraising allows us to raise money in a cost-effective way, as well as engage in thousands of conversations with supporters of BlueCare.

This form of fundraising gives more people the opportunity to ask questions about our work and discuss the different ways in which they can support BlueCare’s services.

We will only call you if you’ve given us consent to do so. We do not take part in ‘cold’ calling. However, if you no longer wish to receive calls from us, are unsure whether a call you’ve received is legitimate or if you’re unhappy with any aspect of a call that you have received, please contact our Supporter Experience team on 1800 001 953 or at fundraising@bluecare.org.au.

We work with a professional, ethical tele-fundraising agency called Clever Contacts. We currently don't have any telephone fundraising campaigns running at this time.

Together, we ensure that:

  • all fundraisers have intensive training and receive regular briefing sessions to ensure that they are working to best practice and to the charity’s guidelines set out by the ACNC and FIA.
  • we regularly monitor and review all tele-fundraising calls to ensure we’re respecting and understanding the people we talk to.
  • every agency we work with complies with the Australian Privacy Principles, as well other relevant State legislation, when dealing with your personal information.

Our professional tele-fundraisers are paid to fundraise on our behalf. However, 100% of all donations given in support of BlueCare are used to improve, develop and continue BlueCare’s services. Our fundraising costs are covered by services that have fees associated with them, and investments like any other business.

Our fundraisers and our partners at Clever Contacts are required to follow rules set out by the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) and are members of the Fundraising Institute of Australia. We want to make sure you feel informed and empowered with the way you choose to give and never feel pressured to give if you are unable to. We want everyone’s experience with BlueCare to be the best possible experience while we raise funds that help us be there for more than 80 communities cross Queensland.

How do you check if any type of fundraising is a scam?

expand_more expand_less

While we would love to see all technology used to make the world a better place, some people use technology to mirror charities - but who don’t have the charities important cause at heart. BlueCare is a registered Australian charity, proudly part of UnitingCare Queensland. We follow all fundraising and government legislation.

Our mail and email fundraising will always have BlueCare branding, communicate with you from an official BlueCare email address such as fundraising@bluecare.org.au, and direct you to our website – bluecare.org.au, fundraise.bluecare.org.au – or one of its landing pages for more information or to donate. If you see, read or hear something that you think isn’t quite right and want to check it with us – we’d definitely like to know too – reach out to our Supporter Experience team on 1800 001 953 or fundraising@bluecare.org.au.
